Arrived in Italy! After a brief stop in Venice, we traveled north to the Dolomite Mountains to hike one of the most epic hiking routes in the alps, the Alta Via 1 or the "High Route". I've teamed up with 3 fellow hikers for this journey which will cover 80km or approx 50 miles of the Alta Via 1 north section over the next 6 days. Our home base is the picturesque valley of Cortina d'Ampezzo.
