Fairbanks

Hiked and explored the area around Fairbanks including a brief stop in North Pole, AK. 

The Northern Lights put on an amazing show our last night in the area, definitely a highlight of the trip!  

On our journey back south, visited the “magic bus” featured in one of our favorite books & films…Into the Wild.  A perfect ending to a great Alaskan adventure!!!

 

Denali & Alaska Range

Traveled along the Denali Hwy admiring the impressive Alaska Range and explored Denali National Park.  Witnessed the moose rut, spotted several owls and were lucky enough to get a glimpse of Mt McKinley. Incredible hiking and stargazing!

 

Icebergs

Canoe trip on Valdez Glacier Lake led us thru a maze of floating icebergs with a few detours exploring cool ice caves.  

Glaciers

Explored the Columbia and Shoup Glaciers near Valdez.  Spotted black bears and mountain goats along the way and chased a few waterfalls.
